Learn how the booking process works

Larger agencies employ “bookers”, whose job is to liaise with clients, build relationships with them, and advise them on which models the agency has that fit their criteria. In smaller agencies, the booking is often handled by the same people who run the agency. In all cases, the agency will put forward a selection of models for a job, agree terms and payment for the job, ensure that the model knows what is required of them, bill the client after the job is finished and pay the model.

The process:

1)The client rings the agency with a request for a model (s) for a specific job

2)The agency provides the client with information and pictures of a number of models that might suit the criteria

3)The client chooses the models they would like to see at a casting or go-see .Note that the client might have contacted a numerb of differnet agencies so expect fierce competition

4)The models go to the casting where the clients decide which model(s) to use

5)The client ad the agency agree on terms, location, times and fees for the model(s)

6)The models is provided with full details of the job, including things they might need to bring with them, date, time, location and fee agreed

7)The model goes to the job with a document that has to be signed by the client at the end of the job stating that the job was done

8) The agency bills the client and pays the models Before agreeing for a jobmake sure you know all the details, including the comission and fess that the agency might charge. Note that although the agency represents you you are in fact a sel-employed, meaning that you are the one responsible for paying you taxes fees. The agency will not make any tax deduction.

Finally, remember that each client has a specific look in mind for their project, so if you are not picked for a certain job, it may just be because they were looking for a different type of model.
