Step 1 – Consider your physical characteristics. Measure your height, waist, bust and hips. This will determine what type of modelling you should go for. For example: you must be 5-foot-7 or taller to be a fashion model, size twelve plus to be a plus-size model or have a fit and toned body to become a fitness model.
Step 2 – Work on having clear skin. It is important to have a beauty regime to maintain that all important model look. Healthy hair is key too so remember your daily vitamins, minerals and at least six glasses of H2O.
Step 3 – Consider your mental attitude - Be enthusiastic and focused at all times, be dedicated, disciplined and regular in your work, show commitment, accept rejection and disappointments, be your own critic and always strive for improvement

Step 4 - You should be willing to travel or move to foreign cities, this will increase the number of jobs you are able to apply for.
Step 5 – You should be able to spend and invest wisely. To be a model and to succeed financially in this game you must become savvy with your modelling fee. Once you have secured payment and it’s sitting snugly in your bank account, think wisely, it may have to last; modelling is not always a regular source of income.
Step 6 - Learn how to approach an agency, how to act and behave and what they expect from you.
Step 7 – Learn which are the recognized modelling agencies. Models Connect will help to connect you with respectable modelling agencies.
Step 8 - Be prompt and professional. Remember there will always be plenty of competition from other models looking to be casted for the same job. So always be on time for a casting session and be presentable.
