Q: What or who is your greatest inspiration?

A: For life in general - my mum. For fashion photography - Nick Knight.

Q: Why are you interested in fashion/modelling/photography?

A: I'm a professional photographer because I really love images. I love viewing them and I love creating them. When I was growing up I always wanted to be an illustrator - but then I discovered photography and was immediately attracted to the technical nature of the photographic process. For me it's like the perfect mix of science and art.
I became interested in fashion photography as a student at design school
when I realised that it was an area of the commercial photography market that allowed photographers a greater amount of creative freedom.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Minimal and clean.

Q: Did your blog help you in your career?

A: Hard to say. It probably hasn't had much of an impact yet.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? - apart from blogging
obviously!

A: Hang out with my girlfriend, watch a movie or read a good book – anything that doesn't involve looking at a computer screen.

Q: What is your advice for young people who are interested in a career
in fashion/modelling/photography?

A: For photography; to succeed you need to be prepared to work hard... really hard. The fashion industry is now flooded with talented photographers, so just having some natural talent is not enough - not if you want to actually make a living and survive in a ridiculously competitive market.
Young people seeking a career in photography should take time to learn about the business of photography (marketing, pricing, negotiating, copyright, licensing, etc) first and foremost. It's this knowledge that will ultimately determine whether or not they stay in business long enough to actually develop a real career.
