Q: What or who is your greatest inspiration?
A: My greatest inspirations these days are designers like Viktor & Rolf who are shaking up the fashion scene with avant-garde ideas.
Q: Why are you interested in fashion/modelling/photography?
A: I have been interested in fashion and photography since I started subscribing to Vogue at age 12. As I say on my profile page, "Fashion is my sustenance!" I find fashion to be indelibly linked with art. As an art history student at Emory University, I studied everything from Dutch painting in the 17th century to post-modern architecture. I see fashion as a form of art and I study it just as I would any other subject.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My personal style is sophisticated yet adventurous. I love pairing minidresses with skinny jeans and fierce booties. Fitted blazers are a staple of my wardrobe. I adore adding accents to my outfits with outrageous accessories like opera length gloves.
Q: Does your blog help you in your career?
A: My career IS blogging. It is a full-time job for me these days and I relish every minute of it! I am also a part-time Pilates and yoga instructor.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time? – apart from blogging obviously!
A: Aside from blogging, I am really into fitness. I also love doing the New York Times crossword and playing Scrabble. And, of course, I adore shopping!
Q: What is your advice for young people who are interested in a career in fashion/modelling/photography?
A: My best advice for young people who are pursuing a career is to intern at the place where you see yourself working someday. The earlier, the better! And never give up on your dreams; perseverance is key.
