Fashion Fille
Q: What or who is your greatest inspiration?
A: I'm inspired by things I see daily- textures in nature, street style blogs, my own creative energy pushing me to express myself. If I get frustrated or bored of the blogosphere (it happens occassionally!), I tend to isolate myself from it for a short time, and when I come back after a day or so I feed off of the energy of other bloggers to get my momentum going again!
Q: Why are you interested in fashion/modelling/photography?
A: I love the limitless creativity and expression in the fashion industry. I love that it's rough and cut-throat, and sometimes overly intense. I love that it's nonstop change, and that passion is required to survive in it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: The lovechild of hard-core, rock-and-roll edginess and ruffly, floral feminity, with a heavy serving of accessories. Jewelry is always key, as is juxtaposition.
Q: Does your blog help you in your career?
A: Immensely! Not only am I building a brand and name for myself, but I'm creating a huge and strong network that will help me in my future. The "who you know" philosophy is one that I fully believe in, and know that connecting with professionals is half of the battle to the top!
Q: What do you like to do in your free time? – apart from blogging obviously!
A:
I'm a student, so I spend all of my time in classes, studying, being Valley Magazine's fashion and web editor, and trying to find time to sleep and breathe. It's tough balancing my academic and blogging careers, but I know it's worth it.
Q: What is your advice for young people who are interested in a career in fashion/modelling/photography?
A: Go for it. Take chances. Intern and get experience! Meet people and make yourself known. If you have the passion and talent, big things will happen for you with a lot of hard work, a little bit of luck, and wonderful people to support you.
