Blogs review.

If you want to become a model you should always start with research on modelling industry. You should know the big names – of modelling agencies, photographers, models and designers. Your work as a model is closely tied to fashion, you should keep track of current trends; many famous models are known for being fashion icons and trendsetters, so you should also work out your own style and be informed on what is ‘hot’ in the fashion world.
That’s why Models Connect did this research for You! We are going to feature the most interesting, most informative, most inspiring BLOGs dedicated to fashion, modelling and photography. Do take time to read, these people know what they are talking about.

Pink Bow

I began my blog after a couple of years of reading other blogs and many many years of scrapbooking, I always loved to have a place I could go to for inspiration and beautiful images. So my blog really is an interpretation of the world as I see it and really just documents things of interest in my life as well as being a platform to practice my photography, styling techniques etc. My blog is purely my own idea and has been running for just over two years.

Q: What or who is your greatest inspiration?
A: I really would just say life in general, be it art, films, music, people on the street. And these are much more interesting when from a bygone era. Being a lover of photography really makes you look at what is around you and appreciate the small things in life.

Q: Why are you interested in fashion/modelling/photography?

A: I really would say I have been interested in fashion since birth, I always had my own ideas on how I wanted to dress, this has little to do with what is currently 'in fashion' and 'on-trend', this doesn't so much interest me so much as personal style. Photography is a passion which began around the same time as starting the blog, although I always have had a keen eye for beauty and images.

Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I guess I'm quite a classic dresser without actually following any kind of style. I see what I like and make it work with other pieces in my wardrobe. I don't build outfits but rather just buy pieces I love.

Q: Did your blog help you in your career?
A: I don't work in fashion but I suppose my advertising background helps with my blog. Having said that, you build so many skills from running a blog - time management, organisation, design, html, networking etc - they can't help but be excellent skills for the workplace too.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? – apart from blogging obviously!

A: Apart from blogging - I love to watch old films (and new) at my local independent cinema. I love to travel to new places, not necessarily in different countries to my own, although that is good too. I like to visit restaurants and cafes. I love flea-markets, antique centres and charity shops. And I love listening to music, I'm starting to build a collection of vinyl.

Q: What is your advice for young people who are interested in a career in fashion/modelling/photography?
A: I guess the most important thing is to gain as much experience as possible. If that is starting your own blog as a platform, I think that is a really great way to start. It gets your name out there, it may get you noticed and most importantly, it is the only way to learn.
