If you want to become a model you should always start with research on modelling industry. You should know the big names – of modelling agencies, photographers, models and designers. Your work as a model is closely tied to fashion, you should keep track of current trends; many famous models are known for being fashion icons and trendsetters, so you should also work out your own style and be informed on what is ‘hot’ in the fashion world.
That’s why Models Connect did this research for You! We are going to feature the most interesting, most informative, most inspiring BLOGs dedicated to fashion, modelling and photography. Do take time to read, these people know what they are talking about.

Searching for style

Q: What or who is your biggest inspiration?

A: I am inspired by the great fashion designers and respected fashion journalists. I'd name Karl Lagerfeld, Tomas Maier, Suzy Menkes, and Cathy Horyn.

Q: Why are you interested in fashion / design / photography?
A: I have always been interested in fashion, it was my dream to get into it as a child. As far as modelling goes, it is an interesting time in the modeling world as celebrities have taken over the front covers of magazine (which I hate.) I also like the changing body shapes and the debate that goes along with it. Lara Stone has certainly changed the way we view a typical model.

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A: Lots of black, some Hermes jewelry, and high heels.

Q: Does your blog help you in your career?
A: Yes and no. The blog is my career. I started it after I'd given up my other fashion jobs, but I am hoping the blog will lead to great things as the readership grows.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? - apart from blogging obviously!
A: – apart from blogging. I don't blog in my free time, it is my job! My free time at the moment is spent with my puppy, who is extremely demanding, and organizing my house, which we bought over the summer. Sorting out the closets (I have one for daywear, one for outerwear, and one for evening wear) has been a pretty full on project.

Q: What is your advice for young people interested in a career in fashion / design / photography?
A: Be willing to work hard. Read blogs and know everything about fashion. Get an education in fashion, and then jump straight in. Here are some tips from a blog post I wrote: http://searchingforstyle.com/archives/7697.
