I have been reading a lot of things on the web regarding agency fees and the god and the bad ones. Well all I can say is that I joined IMA 6 months ago and paid £80 to register and made my money back on several successful jobs i did.
The question some models need to ask themselves is not about how good an agency is, but how potentially good are they to be a model.
Model agencies have to count on their models and paying a fee to them shows a commitment on how serious you are.
The only models that are NOT meant to pay a fee, are the TOP ones that have been discovered by a talent scout. The new Kate Moss and so on ...
What you do need is a top photographer to present your own professional portfolio and not a high street Studio who makes you believe that you are becoming a successful model by spending thousands of pounds.
I speak here on my own experience and until I found THE photographer who portrayed me as a model, i was not noticed.
What do you expect from life ? to achieve something without investing ? Nothing is free in life and you should be more suspicious when something is offered for free ... that's my advice.
