Hi has anyone heard of Sohot model management? Went on Wednesday for audition asked me back today Fri, offered me acting role as long as I update my portfolio up with them, said I don't have enough pictures in my portfolio! Thay want 350.00 for more pictures, anyone had any experience with them please

I have tried searching for their web site but couldnt find them, whats their web site address? And please in the future just add the link of the agency in question as it saves a lot of time and makes sure who ever is checking is looking at the right agency in question as many agencies now days will have similar names :)
I find it a bit strange that your images were good enough to get an acting role but not good enough to join them unless you pay £350 for a new portfolio, so to me it sounds like a scam or one of those agencies that make their money through charging models money for making a portfolio.
Once you put the web site address up I will be able to have a better idea. Since you did go for an actual interview what was your impression of the agency? did you feel comfortable? Did they look professional? Did you hear their bookers on the phone with potential clients?
These are things you should also be taking note of when going to an agency that doesnt really have a name in the industry.

After having a look at their web site it seems to me they are a promo agency and if I was you I wouldnt spend any money on them. If they were really serious about their business and how they present them selfs they would at least have the courtesy to update their web site rather than still be offering tickets for the justin timberlake concert 2007.
My advice try getting into an agency that is listed under alba models or that has a good reputation in the industry, if you are not sure about a certain agency ask any team member on the MC Team and I am sure they will point you in the right direction.
In regards to getting a portfolio done, there are many photographers out there who do models portfolio's for really decent prices and offer different packages, keeping in mind some of these photographers shoot for high end fashion magazines so if your lucky you know your going to get good results.
You can find these photographers on sites such as www.whoistesting.com , most of the photographers there have links to their web sites which means you can view their body of work and see if they offer packages for modeling portfolio's. You have probably seen me recommend

They offer good packages starting from £150 onwards. Most of my model friends in the industry use their services when updating their portfolio or wanting something specific. Once you start working in the industry for a long time you will make contacts and friends with various creatives who you will be more comfortable choosing to work with again to do your portfolio.

I know im really late on this but around May time was when they approached me also. I went to their 'offices' and said they wanted to take me on but I needed to do a portfolio with them (£250) - I already had a decent set of pictures to show what I could do but they said they 'needed more'... one of the girls I was there with said it was a waste of money and the pictures were not well done at all. Don't go there..
