Fashion designer Alexander McQueen had committed suicide. In a week he had to present a new collection at London Fashion Week.

The famous tailor known for his provocative projects in the beginning of his career, among other things, created suits for Prince Charles, was also the head designer of Givenchy and later cooperated with Gucci.

His suicide this morning is suspected to be the reaction to death of his beloved mother Joyce.

Alexandra Shulman, editor of Vogue, said: 'Lee McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs.'

A statement released on the behalf of Kate Moss said: 'Kate is shocked and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee McQueen. Her thoughts are with his family at this sad time.'
